All 1,541 Obama Leadership Network members - and all 331 graduating leaders in the 2026 cohorts - were emailed this major announcement on March 7! We are copying it here as well for easy reference.
Today, the Obama Foundation announced that the Obama Presidential Center’s Grand Opening celebrations will begin on June 18 and last through June 21. We’ll host a series of events, bringing together the changemakers, community members, volunteers, and supporters who made the Obama presidency a reality, welcoming visitors to celebrate the power of hope and change.
As a member of the Obama Leadership Network (or a member of our current cohorts who will soon join the Obama Leadership Network after you graduate), you are one of the most important manifestations of the Foundation’s mission in the world: to inspire, empower, and connect the next generations of values-based leaders. We’d like to give you a glimpse of what to expect over the next few months and beyond as we prepare to open in Chicago.
- Sneak Preview Opportunity: As an Obama Leadership Network member, you will have the opportunity to get a sneak preview of the Obama Presidential Center Campus and Museum before it is open to the general public. In April, you will receive an invitation to this email to get a ticket for the preview period which will take place between May and early-June. Given capacity limits for the Grand Opening ceremony and museum at that time, we encourage OLN members to explore visiting during this private sneak preview period.
- Grand Opening Weekend: The ceremony itself will have very limited seating capacity, but we plan to livestream the event globally. We are also expecting to host community and public events the weekend of June 20-21, with more details to follow.
- Early Access to Purchase Presidential Center Tickets: In addition to visiting during the sneak preview period, you will receive an early opportunity to purchase tickets to visit after the Obama Presidential Center is open to the public. Museum tickets go on sale to the general public in May.

We are committed to activating the Obama Presidential Center as a home for global changemakers and are still early in the journey of bringing that vision fully to life! We are still in the process of developing how program alumni might use space at the Center and will likely start smaller in this pilot year (with a few small Network Convenings on the campus later this year). We look forward to following up soon with more information.
We realize some alumni cohorts may have plans in the works to visit together for 2026 and we’re eager to hear about them, and ask for a bit of patience as we settle into an entirely new operating phase. The Center will be open for years to come, and we also look forward to growing the number of program events and convenings we are able to host over time, both for new cohorts as well as for you as our lifelong Obama Leadership Network members.
